Oakvale Ranch has been managed by the Preston family as a cattle ranch since the mid-19th century. Located in the Ben Hur area of Mariposa County, Oakvale Ranch is 3,941 acres. Property subdivision and rural residential development are encroaching southward from Highway 140 and the town of Mariposa. The conservation easement will prevent subdivision and development of the ranch, and to ensure long-term viability of the quality and health of water and habitat on the property.
