Nancy Lemos has been the Conservation Associate at the California Rangeland Trust since 2009. Nancy is responsible for monitoring conservation easements, completing monitoring reports, maintaining monitoring records, map production, and for managing the California Rangeland Trust’s GIS mapping database. When time permits, Nancy creates baseline reports for new easements. Prior to working with the California Rangeland Trust, Nancy was involved in keying, identifying, and mapping vegetation as a Graduate Research Assistant. Nancy also worked in the Caltrans District 5 Environmental Planning Department as a student assistant where she completed biological reports for minimal impact projects, produced monitoring reports for federal agencies, completed permit applications, and assisted in plant identification field surveys.
Nancy obtained both her M.S. and B.S. degrees at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, CA. Her M.S. degree is in Agriculture with a specialization in Animal Science. Nancy holds a B.S. degree in Animal Science with a minor in Rangeland Resources, and a second B.S. degree in Ecology and Systematic Biology with a concentration in Wildlife Biology. Nancy completed a Master Thesis in which she observed and analyzed small rodent species captures, diversity index, and species richness among livestock grazed and adjacent livestock rested sites.
