Originally from California and now based in the northeastern part of the state, Sarah Leal holds a Bachelor of Science in Forest and Rangeland Stewardship from Colorado State University. Her most recent experience includes working as a partner employee with the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), where she supported landowners in implementing conservation practices that benefit wildlife, working lands, and surrounding communities.
Sarah joins the Rangeland Trust as our Conservation Technical Assistant, a new position dedicated to helping our landowner partners secure grant funding that supports long-term stewardship of the land. She will work directly with ranching families to identify opportunities, complete applications for NRCS programs, and assist with project deliverables.
Conserving the land is only the first step in fulfilling our mission. Ensuring ranchers have the support and resources they need to keep the land healthy and productive for future generations is just as vital, and Sarah is here to help make that possible. Outside of work, Sarah enjoys exploring California’s diverse landscapes with her dog, Sky.
