Shannon Foucault moved to California in 2008 and instantly fell in love with the landscape and rich cultural history of this beautiful state. Growing up in Arizona, she has more memories of exploring the great outdoors than being in her parents’ house and has a great appreciation for wide open spaces. She believes that the best conservation approaches begin with the people most connected to the land and its animals. Since joining the Rangeland Trust in 2017, Shannon has been able to engage with many ranchers, community members, fellow conservation organizations, researchers, and funders to learn just how valuable our work is in successfully preserving the natural resources necessary for all life.
To serve our mission, Shannon brings more than 20 years of fundraising experience — from building strong foundation and corporate partnerships to creating meaningful opportunities for individuals to engage with the causes they care about most. Throughout her career, Shannon has worked with organizations of all sizes in developing strategies to diversify funding potential and improve financial sustainability, enabling growth that has exponentially scaled impact for environmental and cultural causes in California and New York. She views individual donors, foundations, and other funding partners as collaborators working together to do something good, and enjoys learning from our supporters and peers about what is most important and effective toward achieving our shared goals.
Shannon is a graduate of Yale College with an MBA from the University of Phoenix. Shannon became a CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive) in 2015.
