Shannon Foucault moved to California in 2008 and instantly fell in love with the landscape and rich cultural history of this beautiful state. Growing up in neighboring Arizona, she has more memories of exploring the great outdoors than being in her parents’ house and has a great appreciation for wide open spaces. She believes that the best conservation approaches begin with the people most connected to the land and its animals. Protecting the natural spaces of California, and the traditions and stories of its people and wildlife, are very close to her heart, and were central to her enthusiastic decision to join CRT.
As Director of Development for CRT, Shannon brings more than 15 years of solid fundraising – from securing corporate partnerships and foundation grants, to creating exciting opportunities for individuals to engage with the causes they care about most. Previously, she was leading a successful $82 million capital campaign at the Oakland Zoo to build a new experience focused on California’s natural history. Prior to that project, a diverse portfolio of fundraising activity for higher education and the fine arts provided a well-rounded, creative perspective for advancing organizational goals in partnership with a wide variety of donors.
Shannon is a graduate of Yale College with an MBA from the University of Phoenix. Shannon became a CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive) in 2015.
