Stan Van Vleck

Stan Van Vleck is the owner of Van Vleck Ranching and Resources, Inc. (VVRR), a family-owned enterprise with operations in ranching, commercial real estate, conservation, and investment management. He owns and manages Van Vleck Ranch in Sacramento County, where he has led significant conservation efforts, including the placement of permanent conservation easements on thousands of acres of working rangeland.


Stan has spent more than three decades restoring, expanding, and stewarding family ranch lands while advancing innovative land management practices focused on habitat preservation, carbon sequestration, soil health, and sustainable cattle production. Under his leadership, the ranch has become a model for balancing agricultural productivity with long-term environmental stewardship.


A graduate of California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, Stan is a retired attorney and former Chairman of Downey Brand LLP, one of California’s leading law firms. He brings extensive experience in business leadership, land use, real estate, governance, and conservation to the California Rangeland Trust Board of Directors.
